Port Connectivity: Research Perspectives

Abstract: In this session, port connectivity will be discussed both from the sea side and the land side. Rommert Dekker will discuss the accessibility of the port at the sea side connecting the port with global maritime networks. Rob Zuidwijk will discuss the accessibility of the port connecting the port with hinterland networks. Some general timely issues and specific research questions will be reviewed. A very brief intro will be given to the way we are organising research on these topics  in SmartPort with port stakeholders, at Erasmus, and with our academic peers at other universities.
