ERIM Researcher and PhD Candidate win AOM symposium award for global philanthropy research


ERIM Associate Member <link people pamala-wiepking>Pamala Wiepking and RSM PhD Candidate Lonneke Roza won the AOM Emerald Best International Symposium Award at the Academy of Management (AOM) Conference 2016 on 7 August in Anaheim, California. They co-organised the symposium to explore how non-profit organisations can become more meaningful through global philanthropy.

The 90-minute symposium, Making non-profit organizations more meaningful: what can we learn from global philanthropy? as the award winner by the AOM International Theme Committee (ITC). Roza and Wiepking focused on the global context in which these organisations operate. This global context relates to the characteristics of the local and national environment and culture in which NPOs carry out their social mission, including relationships between public, private and non-profit sector organisations.
