Dr. Jan Stoop Awarded the Pierson Medal

On December 11^th, behavioural economist Dr Jan Stoop of Erasmus School of Economics was awarded the prestigious Pierson Medal of the Mr. N.G. Pierson Fonds, during the annual meeting of the KVS, the Royal Dutch association for economists. In addition to the medal, Jan Stoop also receives a cash prize of 5,000 euros.

Although Jan Stoop’s resume is the shortest of all candidates, according to the jury, he largely compensates that with the content of his work. His research has already been published in the absolute top journals in Economics: the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy.
