On Friday, the 21st of June 2019, Prof. Daan Stam, Endowed Professor of Innovation Management in the department of department of Technology and Operations Management presented his inaugural address entitled ‘Leading for innovation’.
Recent research about the importance of knowing what actually makes people feel safe and its relevance for planning and policy decisions was highlighted at a recent conference about the popularisation of science for journalists, university press officers and researchers. Dr Ilona Suojanen, post-doctoral researcher at the Centre of Excellence in Public Safety Management, (CESAM), spoke at the Bessensap2019! conference in Amsterdam. Her presentation, titled Citizens’ positive safety perceptions in public spaces in Rotterdam presents safety as a key element of wellbeing, and is the result of her work for CESAM, which is based at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). Her research will be published as a peer-reviewed paper in September.
Daan Stam, Professor of Leadership for Innovation at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) will deliver his inaugural address entitled Leading for Innovation on Friday, 21 June 2019. During his lecture, Professor Stam will focus on what he believes to be a critical factor in managing innovation: leadership.
Students who completed their bachelor internship this academic year evaluated Ilaria Orlandi as Best Academic Coach Bachelor Internship 2018-2019 at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). She guided students through their internship trajectory, including feedback on the research topic within the company and the internship report.

In his dissertation ‘Organizations and their External Context: Impressions across time and space’ Ron Maas investigates the interplay between organizations and their context from the perspective of what context means for organizational strategies.
The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded Associate Professor Andreas Alfons of Erasmus School of Economics with a NWO Vidi grant. The NWO Vidi grant of up to 800.000 euros is awarded to excellent researchers who, after obtaining their doctorate, have conducted research successfully for a number of years. This grant enables Andreas Alfons to conduct his research for the coming five years.
