Family Philanthropy in the Global Economy: A Comparison of US, German and Spanish Foundations (1970s-2000s)
Abstract
Puig is associate professor of economic and business history at the Complutense University of Madrid. Her research interests include transnational business influences and the role of business groups and family firms in twentieth-century Spain. She recently co-authored the book Banco urquijo 1918-2008: El primer grupo empresarial de Espana (2008). At CES, Puig will work on a project entitled 'The Transformation of Spanish Family Capitalism: A Comparative Perspective' which examines the long term development of two hundred and fifty Spanish family firms in terms of internationalization, professionalization, and collective action.
