Ambidextrous Leadership – An Alternative to Classic Contingency Theories?
Abstract
As the world changes, so do the demands on leaders. Many leadership behaviors that may have been reasonably effective in the past are becoming ineffective in motivating and getting the most out of today's workforce. New solutions are required for the challenges of the future, most prominent among which are increasing internationalization and diversity, greater competition and time pressure, and the need to constantly innovate. In this talk, GISMA Business School Hannover Professor Eric Kearney explores an emerging theory of leadership that addresses how effective leaders must meet seemingly opposing demands simultaneously to achieve beneficial results. |
