Entrepreneurial ventures are subject to great risk of failure, often exiting the market soon after they startup. At the same time, well-planned exit strategies can be the root of entrepreneurial success. The aim of the workshop is to highlight the multiple aspects of exit as part of the entrepreneurial process. The workshop brings together leading scholars from Europe and the USA to share ideas about the frontiers of research in the area. |
The workshop is organized by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship & New Business Venturing at the Rotterdam School of Management, to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Since its inception in 2003, the Centre has become the largest program on entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. The Centre’s research focuses on entrepreneurial orientation and learning, innovation and firm evolution, high technology entrepreneurship and networks. |
Research areas covered by the workshop include: the entrepreneurial exit (e.g. intentions, human capital), firm capabilities and survival, exit strategies, the role of institutions and networks in preventing failure. |
