Dag van de Zorginkoop (Day of healthcare procurement)
This year the Dutch “Dag van de Zorginkoop” was held on the 20th of March in the Galgenwaard in Utrecht. This day deals with the responsibility that healthcare procurers, healthcare facilitators and patients share to ensure correct quality and collective price of the healthcare system. Hence, the day was devoted to answering the following question: How do we collectively take care of increasing the quality of healthcare procurement, while at the same time considering the financial sustainability of the healthcare system? During this day healthcare professionals came together to discuss the issue with each other and also to learn about the latest insights regarding this issue. Furthermore, they were also provided with insights on the approach to increase the sustainability of healthcare procurement by closing long term partnerships. One of the keynote speakers on the event was Erik van Raaij, who was invited to talk about his research on value-based healthcare purchasing.
