I will explore how practical wisdom plays a role in mentoring relationships, especially in supervision leadership positions. Although not explored in great depth, the links between organizational leadership and the exercise of judgment have been noted by some organizational and management scholars such as Keohane in 2015. Research requires answers around the role of mentoring relationships, specifically the effects of practical wisdom as perceived by followers in their autonomy and self-agency, the effect of supervisory leadership, and how these Phronetic leaders’ mentors may influence the incidence of failure of a mentoring relationship.
