E. (Ece) Karakoyun
Ece C. Karakoyun is an assistant professor at the Econometric Institute of the Erasmus School of Economics. Her research mainly addresses challenges at the interface of operations and design problems arising in the energy industry. This encompasses both the supply and demand sides, employing stochastic optimization techniques to find effective solutions and offer valuable insights to relevant stakeholders. She is particularly interested in the operations of low-carbon emerging technologies (e.g., renewable energy resources, energy storage systems, and hybrid energy systems), and in integrating these technologies into electricity market operations while maintaining operational flexibility. She is also interested in energy demand-side management, with a particular emphasis on demand response strategies and the development of smart grids.
