NCA at Social Network conference
At the 38th annual SUNBELT conference of the International Network for Social Network Analysis in sunny Utrecht, the Netherlands (June 26 - July 1, 2018) , NCA was introduced by Stefan Breet, PhD candidate of the Rotterdam School of Management. He proposed to re-interpret Burt’s (1992) classic theory that a lack of ‘structural holes’ in the social network constrains innovative performance. This theory can be considered as a necessary-but-not-sufficient theory that ‘brokerage’ is necessary but not sufficient for innovation. He supported this interpretation with recent insights from the literature and with an NCA analysis of new empirical data. For more information please contact Stefan Breet.
