The Chinese version of the introductory book about Conducting Necessary Condition Analysis. Mastering Business Research Methods Series, published by Sage has been, is now available. The book was translated into by Yunzhou Du. The Chinese title of the book is 'Necessary Condition Analysis' and the publisher is Truth and Wisdom Press, Shanghai.
We are very proud to announce The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Necessary Condition Analysis is now released on Coursera!
The course is freely available for anyone who wants to learn about NCA. This beginners course includes 29 videos and is organized in 5 weeks:
1. Introduction to NCA
2. Setting up an NCA study
3. Data analysis with NCA

NCA SOFTWARE - 3.2.0 now available
A new version of the NCA software is now available. Quick to install and to use, it comes with a quick-start guide for those who are new to R and NCA.
In NCA 3.2.0, next to a couple of minor fixes, some larger changes are implemented.
An editorial commentary about "What Constitutes a Methodological Contribution" by Donald Bergh, Brian Boyd, Kris Byron, Steve Gove, and David Ketchen has appeared in the Journal of Management. It showcases Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) as the running example of their "life cycle model of a methodological contribution".
We are happy to announce that we have recently launched The NCA Forum! As the use of Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) as approach and data analysis technique is growing, we strongly encourage interaction and discussion about NCA on an interactive platform within a community.
The forum provides the opportunity for NCA users to ask questions, read through previous discussions and get in contact with others interested in NCA.

Through a variety of events the NCA Development team facilitates scholars who are new to NCA to get an understanding of what NCA is, why NCA is important & relevant and how NCA can be applied. We also host events to support authors that are already familiar with NCA in writing an NCA paper and providing tips how an NCA can best be published. Examples of regular events are:
- Introduction webinars.
- Software demonstrations.
- Workshops and symposia at conferences, e.g., Academy of Management (A0M), European Academy of Management (EURAM), British Academy of Management (BAM).
- Summer courses.
- Paper Development Workshops.

On Thursday 10th of February, we will host the first webinar of 2022 for NCA. Subsequently, we will start the new year with an online 'Introduction to NCA' Webinar.
This webinar will help participants who are completely new to NCA to get a first understanding of ‘What is NCA’?
To facilitate participants from different time zones, the webinar will be offered twice. Each session will last one hour followed by thirty minutes of (voluntary) discussion. This webinar will be free of charge and will be hosted by Jan Dul, the founder of the NCA method and Caroline Witte, ambassador of NCA.

On Thursday the 14th of October, the first Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) Paper Development Workshop took place. Our NCA ambassador Stefan Breet organized the workshop on behalf of the NCA Development Team to help researchers write convincing papers using the NCA methodology.
The workshop consisted of three parts. The first NCA paper development workshop started with a plenary session in which Professors Steve Gove and Jan Dul gave presentations about the latest developments of Necessary Condition Analysis. After a short break, three groups were formed to discuss the papers of the participants. The workshop ended with a short plenary session in which we awarded the first NCA Paper Development Workshop Encouragement Award.

At the end of June (21 - 25th), we held our annual NCA Summer Course. The participants from all over the world appreciated greatly this 5-day hands-on online course. For example, one participant thought highly of the "meaningful lectures leading to practical applications of NCA and possible publication".
To complete this course, participants have to write an extended abstract as their final assignment. This assignment was well-received as it "allows to working with NCA in research projects".
