Martijn Wisse and Tom Bonkenburg speakers at MHF seminar 17 May 2017
Part of the program of the MHF seminar on 17 May 2017 has been set: Martijn Wisse and Tom Bonkenburg will give a lecture during the seminar. Martijn Wisse will speak about Robot technologies for order picking. The subject of Tom Bonkenburg’s lecture is Robots in the supply chain. The theme of the seminar is Innovations in intralogics.
Prof. dr. ir. Martijn Wisse is one of the founders of the TU Delft Robotics Institute and the RoboValley ecosystem. His research group focuses on the development of intelligent industrial robots. As coordinator of large EU funded projects (Factory-in-a-Day and ROSIN) and as cofounder of several spin-off companies, Martijn aims to make robot technology available for applications outside the ‘standard’ automotive applications, and to foster collaborations in our robotics ecosystem.
Robot technologies for order picking
The worlds of logistics and industrial manipulators are coming together, thanks to the impressive vision and manipulation capabilities that have recently be developed. This presentation will focus on the underlying breakthrough technologies that we demonstrated during the Amazon Picking Challenge in 2016, including ROS-Industrial, deep learning, and path planning. Since the victorious demonstration, the technologies have matured into industrially applied bin-picking and order picking solutions.

He often speaks at events for organizations such as the Material Handling Industry of America, the European Brands Association, The Supply Chain Council, SAPICS, Logicon, the Robotics Industry Association, and the Beverage Supply Chain Collaboration Forum.
Robots in the supply chain
Will robotics be the next disruptive technology in the area of supply chain and distribution?
Mr. Bonkenburg will discuss the latest available robotic technology, talk about the companies that are using this technology, and what the supply chain professional needs to know now about the possible future impact of this rapidly developing industry.
Managers intralogistics
The target group of the MHF seminar are managers in the intralogistics. The MHF invites speakers from universities and speakers from the practice of intralogistics. Intralogistics vendors as well as users are invited. During the seminar, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues in the intralogistics world.
The seminar starts with a lunch at 12:00h and finishes with a drink, starting at 17:15h.
Location: Erasmus University Rotterdam.
