Time Window Assignment
Time Window Assignment in Distribution Networks
In many distribution networks, deliveries are made at regular intervals and take place within a scheduled time window. Assigning the exact time window to a client is a new, relevant and complex problem. At the moment of assigning time windows, customer demand is typically not yet known. The assigned time windows determine to a great extent the expected total transportation costs. Also operations at the warehouse as well as at the customers in the network are greatly affected by the choice of time windows. In this project, new planning methods will be developed to assign time windows.
