Crowdsourcing Delivery

Crowdsourcing Delivery

The recent trend of shorter delivery lead-times strain the efficiency of last-mile delivery systems. At the same time, developments in mobile communication technologies create novel opportunities to organize the last-mile. This project considers the adoption of “crowdsourcing” in the context of the delivery of goods ordered online. We develop mathematical models to optimize the use of the crowd and investigate the potential benefits of crowdsourced delivery systems. The aim is to create models to support decision making in this area and help to increase the efficiency and viability of crowdsourced delivery systems.
