Welcome to Joern Block - Newest member of the Erasmus Centre for Family Business research team!

The Erasmus Centre for Family Business is pleased to announce that Professor dr. Joern Block has joined the Centre's research team. Joern Block is a full Professor of Management at University of Trier and a Visiting Professor at the Department of Applied Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He is also a member of Erasmus Institute of Management (ERIM).

Joern  studied management and economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Université Libré de Bruxelles (MSc in 2005). He received his PhD in management from Technical University Munich in 2009 and spent two years as a PostDoc at Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He gained teaching experience in economics, strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and quantitative research methods.

His research on family firms uses advanced econometric analyses such as panel data estimation or Bayesian analysis. Joern’s research has appeared or  been accepted for publication in leading international journals such as Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, Family Business Review and others. He is associate editor of Small Business Economics and member of the editorial board of Family Business Review.
