Danny Miller
Danny Miller (PhD McGill University) is Research Professor at HEC Montreal and Chair Professor of Strategy and Family Business at the University of Alberta. His current research examines the strategies, organization designs and governance structures of family firms and other types of businesses. Author of over 150 articles and 7 books, his work has focused on the study of organizational configurations and taxonomies, quantum strategic and structural change, competitive dynamics and asymmetries, entrepreneurial orientation, and psychodynamic models of strategic leadership. He has won Best Paper Awards from the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Organization, and the Strategic Management Journal Wiley Prize, and is an ISI Highly Cited Scholar. He currently is Associate Editor of Academy of Management Annals, serves on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Family Business Review, and over the years has served on the editorial boards of ASQ, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Journal of Management. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Management.
Isabelle LeBreton-Miller
Isabelle Le Breton-Miller (Ph.D. Imperial College London) is Associate Professor of Management and holds the Chair of Succession and Family Enterprise at HEC Montreal, and is Senior Research Fellow at the University of Alberta. She has served in senior human resource management positions in a variety of companies. Her research, teaching interests, and recent publications center on creating competitive advantage by building human and social capital and assuring effective governance and succession in family businesses. She has published in Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing and other journals. Her most recent book with Danny Miller is Managing for the Long Run (Harvard Business School Press), now translated into 6 languages. She serves on the editorial boards of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and Family Business Review among other journals, and consults with family businesses.
Carlo Salvato
Carlo Salvato is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where he teaches corporate strategy, family business strategy, and entrepreneurship at the Master and PhD levels. He obtained a PhD in business administration and management from Bocconi University and a PhD in entrepreneurship and family business management from Jönköping International Business School, Sweden. His current research focus is on the micro foundations and evolution of entrepreneurial capabilities in family firms. He has nearly 20 years of experience in research and teaching family firms. In 2011 he chaired the 25th anniversary annual conference of the Family Firms Institute in Boston. He is Associate Editor of the Family Business Review, he serves in the Board of Review of the Journal of Business Venturing and is a member of the Board of the Family Firm Institute. He was elected future Chair of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management.
Michael Carney
Michael Carney is Concordia University Research Chair in Strategy and Entrepreneurship and a Professor at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Montréal, Québec. He has published extensively on the corporate and organizational strategies of Asia’s family-owned business groups and on the development of the global institutional environment of international aviation. His research focuses on entrepreneurship and the comparative analysis of business, financial and governance systems and their influence upon the development of firm capabilities and national competitiveness. Carney the incoming Editor-in-Chief of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Management. He is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Management Studies, Family Business Review, Journal of Family Business Strategy. He is a member of the advisory board of the Center for Governance Institutions & Organizations at the National University of Singapore. He has published in Journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Asia Pacific Business Review, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Economic and Industrial Democracy, Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, Family Business Review, Journal of Management Studies, Management and Organization Review, Organization Studies, and Strategic Management Journal.
